The 5 blocks that make prompts reusable
If you want prompts to work across projects, you need a consistent backbone. Almost every high-quality training prompt can be built from five blocks:
- Context: audience, environment, domain, and what “good” looks like
- Source of truth: what to treat as authoritative (SOPs, policy, screenshots, build notes)
- Constraints: risk level, what not to invent, tone, reading level, formatting
- Output shape: what sections to produce and how to label them
- Review artifacts: assumptions + gap questions + “red zone” items
